Introducing the JYRO Helium – the wing for jumpers who want it all: big canopy vibes without the bulk. True to its name, the Helium is lighter than air, built with our ultralight L-ZP fabric that packs small but flies big.

The Helium’s 20D silicone coated ZP low-bulk fabric packs up a full size smaller without sacrificing durability, unlike other uncoated F1-11 low-bulk fabrics that wear out quickly. It’s engineered to handle sandy, dirty, fun-as-f%#k landing areas and sets a new benchmark for low-bulk canopies on the market.

Whether you’re a heavier skydiver looking for a big canopy that fits into a smaller rig, or a smaller jumper wanting the stability of a larger wing without the bulk, Helium is your perfect match. And for those starting their skydiving journey, Helium provides the option of a forgiving, larger canopy that fits into a compact rig – offering comfort and performance right from the beginning.

The JYRO Helium takes its roots from the tried-and-true Safire 3. We started with the same dependable planform and reimagined it to meet the demands of jumpers who value efficiency and versatility:

  • Our ultralight L-ZP, 20D silicone-coated nylon fabric sets a new benchmark for low-bulk canopies, offering reduced pack volume without compromising durability.
  • Bigger inlets and optimised crossports ensure smooth airflow and a stable, predictable flight profile at lighter wing loadings.
  • The redefined brake configuration delivers improved flare, giving you precise control on landing at a variety of wing loadings.

This is not just a low pack volume wing; it’s a thoughtfully engineered solution for jumpers who want to maximise their experience in the air and on the ground.

Who should fly this wing?
The JYRO Helium is perfect for jumpers who want the benefits of a larger canopy without the bulk. Whether you’re a bigger pilot looking for a compact rig setup or a smaller jumper who wants more forgiving performance, Helium fits the bill. Skydivers starting their journey will love it for the smooth, easy ride, while progressing flyers can appreciate the reliability, safety, and intuitive handling. Wingload it between 0.8 and 1.4 for the sweet spot, but as always, hit us up if you’re unsure.

What can you expect when you fly the Helium?
The Helium is all about stress-free flights and soft, confidence-inspiring landings. It opens consistently, glides like a dream, and has a deep control range that makes it her easy to manage in any situation. Whether you’re learning the ropes or refining your skills, Helium’s smooth handling and dependable performance keep the focus on fun, not stress.

Openings
The Helium’s opening sequence is dialled in for a stress-free experience – soft, smooth and predictable. Its short snivel and progressive inflation keep openings smooth and on-heading, ideal for new jumpers, or anyone looking for no-fuss openings. Peace of mind right from the start.

Toggles
Helium’s toggle response is progressive and forgiving. This ensures precise, easy handling for all skill levels without overwhelming newer pilots.

Harness
Harness inputs are smooth and intuitive, giving you just the right amount of control when weight-shifting. The Helium responds beautifully to subtle inputs, making it feel effortless and balanced in flight.

Front Riser Flight
The Helium’s moderate front riser pressure makes diving into turns or adjusting your glide simple and manageable. It’s forgiving for new pilots while offering a touch of performance for those looking to explore more dynamic flying.

Rear Riser Flight
The Helium boasts one of the best glides in its class, making it easy to handle long spots or glide back from adventurous jump runs. Its rear riser performance is intuitive and reliable, giving you the confidence to get where you need to go. Small inputs go a long way, making them easy to use even for those on lighter wingloadings.

Performance
The Helium is designed with safety and reliability at the forefront. The smooth openings, forgiving inputs, and stable flight characteristics ensure a stress-free experience for beginners while giving intermediate jumpers the confidence to push their skills further. It’s built for predictable, controlled landings with a deep, strong flare that makes every touchdown feel effortless.

Recovery and Flare
The Helium’s quick recovery arc ensures the canopy stays stable and forgiving, even in tighter situations. The powerful, deep flare is designed to inspire confidence, whether you’re perfecting your landings or working on new techniques. With Helium, you’ll feel in control every step of the way, from your first jump to your next big adventure.

L-ZP: MINIMUM PACK VOLUME, MAXIMUM LONGEVITY

We could have just slapped some F-111 on a Safire 3 and called it a day, but taking shortcuts isn’t our style. “Be the Best” is one of JYRO’s original mottos, and last time we checked, “make something flimsy” isn’t. So Helium is low bulk, but it sure as hell isn’t low effort. Enter L-ZP, our ultralight 20-denier silicone coated ZP fabric that trims 6-11% off your pack volume*, which means you can squeeze 1-2 full container sizes smaller without resorting to witchcraft or questionable rigging choices.
